The casino industry is new to Philadelphia and it offers stable employment opportunities with growth potential. Attractive positions will be available for thousands of area residents including the currently unemployed and under-employed.   • Once Phase I is completed, SugarHouse will directly employ approximately 1,100 people with more job openings when Phase II is built.
  • Additionally, according to the Philadelphia Gaming Advisory Task Force, each Philadelphia Category II licensee is expected to create:
    • 1,400 temporary jobs, including direct construction and indirect employment opportunities
    • More than 2,000 ancillary new retail and hospitality jobs outside the Casino
    • More than 2,600 jobs in tangential industries and local businesses.

Given an anticipated opening date in 2009, a majority of formal recruiting efforts will occur approximately six months prior to opening, while most management positions will be filled approximately six to twelve months prior.
