PHILADELPHIA — May 1, 2018 — SugarHouse Casino is blooming with entertainment this spring with a special Cinco de Mayo performance from Cheech and Chong on Saturday, May 5. Keeping the celebration going, the Philadelphia Taco Festival will take over the casino’s parking lot on May 12 and 13, featuring creations from some of the area’s best restaurants and food trucks, complete with a margarita bar and live entertainment.
Promotions, Contests & Sweepstakes
$100,000 Fueling Victory Sweepstakes — Beginning Tuesday, May 1, at 6 p.m., guests can earn entries for a chance to win a share of more than $100,000 in prizes. On Monday, May 28, from 6-8:30 p.m., winners will be announced every 15 minutes to win a variety of prizes, including $1,000 to $5,000 in Free Play, gas gift cards and cash. At 8:30 p.m., one lucky winner will win $10,000 cash.
$15,000 Monthly Jackpot Bonus — On Tuesday, May 1, at 8 p.m., jackpot winners have the chance to win their share of $15,000 Free Slot Play and cash. Qualifying participants who hit a jackpot of $1,200 or more in April will be eligible to participate in this month’s jackpot drawing.
Cinco de Mayo Hot Seat — On Saturday, May 5, from 5-9:30 p.m., two winners actively playing at a slot machine or table game will be selected every 30 minutes to win $500 cash.
Royal Wedding Hot Seat — On Saturday, May 19, from 6-8 p.m., guests who play at a slot machine or table game with their Rush Rewards card are eligible for a chance to win a share of $19,000 in prizes. Winners will be selected every 15 minutes to choose a royal crown that is worth from $250 to $5,000 in cash or Free Play.

Saved Me Animal Rescue Tournament — On Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. a poker tournament to benefit the Saved Me Adoption Center will be held in the Poker Room. The $400 entry also includes a brunch that runs from noon-2 p.m.
Daily High Hands — It’s non-stop action in the SugarHouse Casino Poker Room with a winner every 30 minutes during the designated time periods of the daily high hand promotion. Texas Hold’em games that contribute to the jackpot are eligible for this promotion that will award $100, $200 or $300 for each high hand.
Instant High Hand Progressive Jackpots — Every qualifying hand at a cash table in the Poker Room will instantly earn a progressive jackpot. All four-of-a-kind and straight flush hands will earn between $50 and $599, except the royal flush which will never pay less than $200 and increases until it is hit. This is a 24/7 promotion. In addition, all Instant High Hands hit between 2 a.m. and 3 p.m. every day will pay double the jackpot amount (except the royal flush).

Fishtown Hops Outdoor Patio — Fishtown Hops’ beer garden opens its patio doors on Wednesday, May 2. The outdoor season kicks off with an all-new menu that accompanies a selection of local brews and craft cocktails. The hours of operation are Wednesday and Thursday from 4-10 p.m., Fridays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sundays from 2-10 p.m. Happy hour is from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
Hugo’s Frog Bar & Chop House — On Fridays and Saturdays in May, guests will enjoy live piano music in the casino’s first-class steakhouse from 6-10 p.m.
- Buck-A-Shuck — On Thursdays, guests can enjoy $1 oysters.
Philadelphia Hometown Team Special — During all basketball games for the Philadelphia professional hometown team, guests can enjoy $3 Coors Lite drafts at Lucky Red.
Events & Entertainment
Cheech and Chong — Legendary comedy duo Cheech and Chong will celebrate Cinco de Mayo at SugarHouse Casino by performing their successful comedy show on Saturday, May 5, at 9 p.m. Richard “Cheech” Marin and his Mexican heritage join Tommy Chong on The Event Center Stage for their “Light Up America & Canada” tour. Tickets to see this hilarious duo at SugarHouse cost from $59 to $79 and can be purchased on the SugarHouse Casino headliner events page.
Boxing — King’s Promotions presents live pro boxing at The Event Center at SugarHouse Casino on Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m. The schedule of events for fight week is as follows:
- News Conference — May 9 from 6-7:30 p.m.
- Weigh-In — May 10 from 2-4 p.m.
- Boxing — May 11 from 7-11 p.m., doors open at 6 p.m.
Philadelphia Taco Festival — On May 12 and 13, from noon-6 p.m. in the SugarHouse Casino parking lot, some of the area’s best restaurants and food trucks will serve their own taco creations for $3 per taco. In addition, there will be a margarita bar, a tequila expo counter with more than 30 different types and live entertainment including mariachi bands, DJs, salsa dancers and a mechanical bull.
