SUGARHOUSE GOES TO BAT FOR PAL NIGHT AT THE PHILLIES

August 17th, 2018

Casino’s contribution supports Philadelphia youth programs

PHILADELPHIA — Aug. 17, 2018 — SugarHouse Casino celebrated the 40th Annual PAL Night at the Phillies on Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Citizens Bank Park. The event helped raise more than $35,000 for the Police Athletic League (PAL) of Philadelphia to support youth development centers throughout the city.

PAL sponsors and Philadelphia media members teamed up for a friendly softball game prior to the Phillies home win against the Boston Red Sox. The night also featured several check presentations, including SugarHouse Casino’s donation to support PAL’s education, athletic and cultural programs.

“As a longtime supporter of PAL and all of its wonderful programs, SugarHouse is proud to help the city’s police be positive role models for thousands of students throughout Philadelphia,” said Emily Costa, SugarHouse Casino Community Relations Manager. “Cops helping kids is a win-win for everybody.”

PAL serves 18,000 children at 20 centers across Philadelphia. SugarHouse General Manager Cheryl Duhon presented the casino’s donation to Police Commissioner Richard Ross.

ABOUT PAL
PAL is “Cops Helping Kids.” We aspire to be the premier youth-serving organization in the city, by reducing crime, promoting character development, and improving educational outcomes. We accomplish this by having Philadelphia Police Officers, supported by civilians, offer educational, athletic, and recreational programs to youth in some of the city’s highest crime and lowest income neighborhoods. PAL Centers are safe havens, offering a variety of free programs and other events to attract engage and develop more than 18,000 of Philadelphia’s youth.
